Pfizer Thailand Foundation and World Vision hold ‘Young Leadership Camp 7’ under the theme of ‘Get Ready for the Future’

Krabi (26 October 2012) – Pfizer Thailand Foundation in collaboration with World Vision Foundation of Thailand has organized the ‘Young Leadership Camp 7’ from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 October 2012 at Ao Nang, Muang district of Krabi province. The youth camp, bearing the theme of‘Get Ready for the Future’ this year, aims to encourage self-discovery among the young and get them ready for the future through the development of life skills and leadership as they take part in activities designed to give back to society. Joining this year’s camp are 50 Grade 7-12 students from 7 schools who are supported by Pfizer Thailand Foundation and put under the care of World Vision Foundation.

Mr. Christian Malherbe, Executive Director for Pfizer Thailand Foundation, said, “Pfizer Thailand Foundation and World Vision Foundation of Thailand have worked together on the leadership camp for the seventh year. The theme for this year is Get Ready for the Future. The purpose is to develop leadership and instill in the children the life skills they need to be productive adults that will allow them to contribute to society. The activity this ye ar offers them an opportunity to meet with experts from different fields such as medicine, pharmacy, education graphic designer, host and DJ as well as native professions. The children can learn from the experiences shared by these people which should inspire them to pursue their dreams. We are among the driving force to make them dare to take action and get them ready to move towards their future goals.” 

First organized in 1986, the Young Leadership Camp is a part of a partnership between Pfizer Thailand Foundation and World Vision Foundation of Thailand to support children affected by the tsunami that struck the South of Thailand in 2004 as well as underprivileged children in Phang Nga. Pfizer Thailand Foundation donates Bht 900,000 each year for World Vision Foundation of Thailand to support the children’s education and healthcare. To date, Pfizer Thailand Foundation has donated a total of Bht 6.3 million. The Pfizer Thailand Foundation and World Vision Foundation Thailand partnership is a part of Pfizer’s mission to work together with local communities to support philanthropic initiatives, scientific educations and healthcare.
