And, we must take into account our stakeholders’ interests and be held accountable to them.
That is why, in 1992, Pfizer became the first U.S. company to establish a corporate governance department. And, it’s why Pfizer’s Governance Committee Charter requires Directors to “consider the perspectives of stakeholders in the company’s decisions regarding current and emerging political, social and public policy issues.”
To ensure that every employee throughout our organization plays an active role in implementing our commitment to responsible business, Pfizer has developed Policies on Business Conduct. First written more than 20 years ago, the “Blue Book”, as it is known, is reviewed annually to ensure it meets or exceeds evolving societal expectations. The “Blue Book” has been translated into 36 languages and every employee, at every level of our organization, is required to learn and abide by its rules.
