Pfizer is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies and is the fastest growing pharmaceutical company in Thailand. As a research-based pharmaceutical company, we provide a broad range of pharmaceutical products for the treatment of illnesses such as heart disease, high cholesterol, central nervous system diseases, infection and Erectile Dysfunction (ED). Pfizer Inc has, to date, conducted research and development of 130 new medicines that are used to fight life-threatening diseases and improve quality of life for people suffering from cancer and other serious illnesses. New, innovative medicines are continuously being developed by Pfizer and subsequently introduced to the Thai market.
Since its establishment, Pfizer (Thailand) has been involved in many projects and activities designed to promote a better quality of life and good health for the people of Thailand, in addition to providing the latest pharmaceutical innovations and effective and high-quality medicines. A project supporting medical and pharmaceutical education, with the goal of keeping both physicians and patients abreast of latest developments in modern medicine, is one of Pfizer's leading activities, carried out in cooperation with the Arthritis Foundation of Thailand, Diabetes Association of Thailand, Center for Continuing Medical Education (CCME) and Thailand Advanced Seminar in Infectious Diseases (TASID). Pfizer also cooperates with the Thai Government, the Medical Council of Thailand and other organizations in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, to support various training projects and medical research, and in promoting Thailand as a leading medical research center in Asia.
The company set up the Pfizer Foundation in order to expand the support being extended to the Thai medical community. The Pfizer Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the medical community through Pfizer's strengths and knowledge as a science and research-based organization. We chose to focus on the areas of science, medicine, and public health, which are, after all, what we do best. We also chose to focus on education in these fields and took on the mission to support needy but talented students. Through scholarships, we also encourage advanced research in medical science in Thailand, again complementing our core competence. The Pfizer Foundation is also responsible for developing the CCME web site, providing on-line testing and knowledge and information about recent developments in medicines and treatment for Thai physicians.
Pfizer Thailand will continue its support of medical and science education in order to continuously benefit and strengthen the Thai medical community and improve the quality of life for everyone in Thailand.
